"so what is 'bagupo' actually?" - you may ask...

Bagupo is, well, a planet. A very very very far planet, on which there exist many different species, including a number of humans who have been nice enough not to take over our entire planet! phew...

We also have some other really cool species living on bagupo: stickbreads (aka baguettes) and oompaloompas (not the willy wonka ones... it's complicated).

this page will be all about bagupo: history, culture, chaos.

French is a beautiful language!

Beautiful languages, however, can also create beautiful sounding, but utterly nonsensical phrases:

"je suis une baguette, je m'appelle camembert fromage"

that is how it all began.

Then, on a completely random day, Bagupo was born, because the webmaster had acquired an obsession with baguettes, shared by her, as humans call it, friends. The webmaster had the sudden urge to play a game called 'minecraft'. What a bad decision it was, because now her screen time is skyrocketing again after spending hours working on this website, what a waste of time...

The slightly mad webmaster started building huge baguettes and even came up with a whole religion: baguetism. Their sacred book was called the bagel, the name of which has nothing to do with bagels:

baguette -> bag -> bagel (in dutch, the Bible is called 'Bijbel', so they took the -el from it and stuck it to bag ->bagel (not sure why... it just sounded good?))

('bagupo' was created in the same way... also not sure why)

The webmaster built villages, markets and countless other things that don't really belong to a category, nevertheless, everything is connected: not only by the trainrails, but also by the shiny things in the water, which you will have to see for yourself. It's beautifull.

• Oompaloompas (blue, green, red, purple, etc.)(we know that there once existed orange ones, but they left bagupo after the baguettes came to live on bagupo because they stunk. They now live happily ever after with Willy Wonka in their deliciously smelling candy factory. Their loss... right??)

november 2023: Bombastic News is born

Bombastic News, a news outlet, owned by the legendary Shrexy Studio's, covers important events happening in bagupo. It's a well-respected organisation that delivers the most entertaining news.

yes, the quality of the news is questionable.

Some of the most notable events in the recent history of bagupo (also covered by bombastic news):

the very first breaking news from bombastic news was: 'oh no! we have run out of baguettes!' it was a very sad day... the first of many where bagupo existed without baguettes on it.

on another very sad day... all apples on bagupo suddenly disappear, which brought apple juice companies into a huge panic. Thus, they came up with an alternative: appelpies (apple piss). What companies would do for profit...

1000 years later, a mysterious figure manages to create a new apple and the whole planet erupts into immense joy. The joy was felt through the entire universe and somehow summoned a new species to the planet: oompaloompas.

when they first arrive on bagupo, they do some questionable things and run into the Eurovision Dance Contest after seeing the grand prize was... THE apple. They win with their song 'oompaloompa' and win the prize. They are so happy.

After having becoming global news for being the first oompaloompas on bagupo, they summon their sacred burrito, which then becomes another fundamental part of baguetism's culture.

When the baguettes somehow fell back out of the sky, the orange oompas left for earth to work for Willy Wonka. It's rumored that they left because they stunk, which was true, but they mainly left because on earth, humans are far more sugar-addicted, which makes it much much easier to sell candy there...

The return of the baguettes revived the bagupian culture, and caused the #1 bagupo hit song to be released: acrylic nails. Such a banger.

Another branch of shrexy studios was created: het stephen burgerking _____: (stephenburgerkingjournaal, stephenburgerkingshow, stephenburgerkingkrant). Now the biggest rival of bombastic news.

On another sad day, a war erupts between the humans and the shrexies. Well, it wasn't exactly a war. For visualisation: imagine a shrek-ish species having arms that spin like a helicopter and twelve-year-old humans who think they're badass main character warriors 'fighting'.

Well well well... where do we start?? There's so much to talk about bagupian culture! Let's start with the unmistakeable staple of bagupo: Baguettes (stickbreads). They are originally from France, earth, and were brought here by a few earthlings who accidentally dropped them from their spaceship. When the blue oompaloompas found them, they were mesmerized by the beauty of this pastry. Little did they know, these earthlings were scientists who brought the baguettes to life. Now these are one of the primary life groups on the planet.
